Traveling Spike in Toronto

Traveling Spike arrived in Toronto prior to the SFX Canadian National Expo weekend of Aug. 26-28.

He decided to do a little sightseeing in the city before getting ready for the event.

This fellow wasn't very chatty.

This reminded him too much of that song about the London-Sodding-Bridge falling down.

This silly game still doesn't beat cricket! It doesn't last nearly long enough "Say, mate, where's the beer?"

The real purpose of the trip, of course, was for Traveling Spike to meet his alter-ego, James Marsters, and many of the fans who are supporting his worldwide trip.

The convention started with a Q&A and concert from JM. Festivities then moved to a restaurant where James signed personalized autographs. TS had his scrapbook page signed. The scrapbook eventually will be auctioned off for charity.

TS also couldn't resist trying out one of the party favors at Friday night's event.

Saturday saw a photo session plus another Q&A and concert.

Traveling Spike wanted to ask a question but was, unfortunately, too short to be seen.

Throughout the weekend, TS had a chance to pose with various fans. It was a humbling experience to meet with so many terrific people who share his interest in James Marsters' career.

Traveling Spike also had an opportunity to mix in the general convention beyond Spike /JM fandom and get a taste of the atmosphere.

What do you mean that this isn't Lex Luthor?

BLOODY HELL!

On Sunday, there was one last Q&A and autograph session.

Traveling Spike also looked into the possibility of getting a manager to book his itinerary.

The highlight of the weekend for TS, of course, was meeting his hero, James Marsters, without whom none of this would have been possible.

Thank you, James, for being such a good sport!

In Sunday's autograph line, James said this was the "best use for an action figure" that he had ever seen.

Traveling Spike couldn't agree more.

Traveling Spike Rides Again

Spike came to visit us the end of July in our small rural town in New Hampshire. My daughter is in the 4-H and was preparing to go to one of the county fairs to compete in the working steers competition. Spike had a chance to work with her steers and get well acquainted with some of our other barnyard animals. I believe he found it quite an unusual experience and was relieved to be going back to the big city (Washington D.C.) for his next stop. As a send-off we gave him a keychain with the NH logo "Live Free or Die" which we thought he would appreciate and also included a postcard the shows some typical New Hampshire countryside.
